Getting the most from your QR code
Which QR code type should you choose?
URL remains the most common: restaurant menus, links to a site or form. The WiFi QR connects your guests without dictating the password. The vCard turns your business card into a contact that saves in one scan. Pre-filled email and SMS make reaching out effortless.
Contrast and colors: the golden rule
A QR code scans well when the pattern is clearly darker than the background. Keep strong contrast, avoid inverted colors (light pattern on dark background) and leave a clear margin around the code.
Printing: think vector
For print, export as SVG or PDF: vector formats stay sharp at any size. Allow at least 0.8 × 0.8 in (2 × 2 cm) for close-range scanning, more for posters. Always test with several phones before a large print run.
